BBC SITE

A site I enjoy visiting is www.bbc.co.uk. I'm quite sure many of you are familiar with it, but if you're not it's worth taking a look at it. There are radio programmes that can be dowloaded which are about the changes we are all facing in the classrooms and in the way we teach, I mean if we want to be a "Professor Antenado", these programmes were produced a few years ago, but they are still quite interesting.
There's also this link called "Learning English" that has this section called General a… Continue

O Professor Antenado ( Portuguese)

Here's an article just released by Veja (a Brazilian magazine) about the connected educator in the XXI classroom. We all know that you've been overwhelmed by the new challenges as educators, but the new needs of our digital era have a direct reflex on how we teach and learn, and we need to be aware of that start to think how we can make the digital shift that can make a difference to our learn… Continue

ReadtheWords - Cool Tool

How do you see this tool being used by students? I just thought it was really cool! It's a text-to-speech software. You write the text and it transforms it into voice. You can even decide if you want male, female voice and the accent.

How do you envision your learners using it?

A cry for help!

Dear all,

I've been trying to keep my hands dirty and feet wet. I must look as messy as anything.
Well, I'm slowly introducing my students to our wiki and I created a screencast to help them go about their business (Woohoo! Thanks, Carla!). I can't seem to be able to get the html code to work, though. I enter the code, hit preview and... nothing happens. Soo troubling. However, I got to post a scrapblog last night.
Suggestions are more than welcome!
Have a wonderful week and thanks for your hel… Continue

Welcome, guys!

This is my graduation present for you. It's my way to thank you all for the wonderful time together and to keep connected and learning from one another. I invited the class, and if you joined is because you've in some way been transformed by this whole online experience we had together and now are ready for more!

Of course the intensity of our interactions is up to you now. This is OUR space. And you'll see you have your own space (My Page) to ornament the way you want. You can create groups of interests here, add photos and videos that can contribute to the professional and personal goals of the members of this community. Yes, I feel this is already a Community of Passionate Learners.

I'd suggest that you start connecting to some people here by leaving them messages, chit chatting, fun time together. Then, as we find ourselves around, we can think of ways to make this space one that you want to come more and more.

Oh, the fun thing is that you can start a discussion, write a blog post and much more! Plus, Ning is free and you can even create a community for your students. How cool is that?

Feel free to invite your friends to join us. This is an open space for lifelong learning where educators are always welcome!
